When we began WeMoon Spirit our income was generated by the faithful women sponsors who sent in monthly checks, and by generous additional donations of money and sweat equity.

We have also created different benefit events which have helped enormously. In the spring of 2004 we had a benefit concert. The summer of 2004 brought a wonderful offering by a group of women who donated the proceeds of their annual Lesbian Variety Show to WeMoon Spirit. Fall of 2004 brought our Arts and Crafts Fair. Benefits are a great way to generate money and to have a fun time working together. They also get the word out that WeMoon Spirit exists. Some great ideas are being generated around creating benefits. Ideas are wonderful. Woman power is needed to turn them into a reality. If you have a great idea for a benefit, or have a gift for putting together an event, or would like to help out in this area, please contact the Programming Coordinator at programs@wemoonspirit.com

We also generate funds through our classes, workshops and special events. When you come to enjoy one of these, your donations help to keep WeMoon Spirit alive.

With the tremendous help from Susan Anderson and Patsy McCall, we have gotten our non-profit status from the IRS! Now we can apply for grants and accept donations which are tax-deductable.

We have also sent out a formal membership letter and a membership survey to accept donations, finalize a membership list, and to gain information as to where women's interests and talents lie.

Getting something as big and wonderful as WeMoon Spirit growing is a time consuming effort. We have been at it for almost two years now and have made great progress.

Many hands make work play, and we all benefit from the process, growing and sharing as we go.

We need help to sustain and further our vision. Find space you'd like to fill with your special talents and help to make it happen!
